For the first time, our institute took part in the largest popular science event in the Czech Republic – the VELETRH VĚDY 2025, as part of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) exhibition booth. Held from June 5–7, 2025, at the PVA EXPO in Letňany, the event drew large number of curious minds of all ages, eager to experience science up close and in action.
Our exhibit invited visitors into the captivating world of fluorescence – a phenomenon not only found in medical and analytical applications but also visible in everyday life. We also sparked interest with a special feature on Martian sand, adding an otherworldly twist to the experience. A major highlight was our presentation on carbon nanotubes, showcasing their remarkable potential in shaping future technologies.
Our young colleagues (P. Petrisková, D. Khrisnan, L. Kleman Santos) in fresh and dynamic way showcased chemistry as a fun, visual, and practical science with much to offer beyond the laboratory.
